Away Message

The Away Message function sends an away message when activated.

The Away Message function is designed to be activated when Platform Users are not available to answer messages from contacts.

Activating The Away Message

The Away Message function is located in the Settings Module below Integrations Settings. To activate the Away Message, toggle the Enable Away Message switch on.

Once enabled, you may the select the content and the delay of the Away Message.

The Away Message is only sent once per contact per session. This means the Away Message can only be sent to the same contact again, once you turn the away message off and turn it back on again.

Away Message Delay

Depending on how you interact with your contacts, you may want to have some delay in the away message or no delay at all. This field may be used to set the delay in seconds.

‌ The message is sent the number of seconds you choose after the last message is sent. That means if a contact sends you 3 messages and you choose a 90 seconds delay. Your Away Message is sent 90 seconds after the last message.

Message To Send After Delay

This field allows you to enter the content of the message you send to contacts as the Away Message.

Best Practices

Depending on how you set up your Space, you may want to send the Away Message instantly or send it after some time.

If you have an automation set up when a contact starts the conversation or is marked pending you may want to give the contact some time to complete the automation before the Away Message is sent. ‌

On the other hand, if all you have is a Greeting Message, you may want to send the Away Message soon after the Greeting Message.
